A quick look at who I am, what I do & where I'm going.

My name is Bryant Hughes. I'm a 25 year old guy currently living and working in Chicago IL.

I'm a developer, designer and web architect, and I specialize in building holistic web products, from conception to launch.

I've been a geek since before it was trendy and I take pride in the fact that my favorite movie is Hackers. I'm a hip-hop connoisseur, thai food lover and I seldom stray from wearing jeans and t-shirts.

From an early age, I've been interested in building and figuring out the inner-workings of things. I have always been inspired by creativity, but because I am far from being a natural artist, I could never really fully satisfy my urge to create. When our family got our first computer, I was immediately drawn to the complexity of the machine and over time I learned to build and be creative under the constraints of the system.

In college I majored Information Systems where I studied system architecture on a very holistic level. I gained knowledge on macro-level topics, such as System Analysis and Design, to more specific technical knowledge on Web Application Development and Database Architecture.

Towards the end of my formal college education, I started to build more interest in general design. Topics such as typography, grid theory and hierarchy seemed to touch on the more technical concepts I studied, however these concepts were applied to static content and used to visually communicate to a user.

Since graduating school and becoming a professional in the web industry, I have dedicated myself to learning and appreciating two paths: One being the technical implementation of web systems and another being the visual design and layout of content on the web. Both paths share many similarities and also many differences; however, my knowledge and understanding of both paths, enables me to intertwine concepts and create products that are functionally and aesthetically elegant.
