What I Learned when I was 25
With today being my 26th birthday I thought it would be a good time to reflect on what I have learned over the past year. About this time a year ago I was moving out of an apartment with one of my college buddies and moving into a small one-bedroom with my girlfriend. I was looking for new jobs and trying to leave Denver. A year later I'm living in Chicago in a 2-bedroom apartment with my girlfriend and I indeed have a new job. Oh how things change.
Things I learned
- Hard work pays off, if you think it hasn't yet...keep working hard, it will.
- There is a fine balance between having a solid routine and getting out of your comfort zone.
- Having a productive weekend is way better than having a big night of drinking.
- Biking to work is the greatest feeling in the world.
- Skinny Vinilla Lates do not decrease your manliness.
- I need to live by my parents eventually
- Don't take on more than you can handle.
- Doing favors for people is great, but not when they start expecting them
- Things will always take longer than you expect, plan accordingly.
- Commenting on my girlfriends outfit, no matter positive or negative, will be taken the opposite of what I was intending.
- Denver has the best weather in America.
- Lots of people are workers but not many people DOers, the DO'ers are the people who get noticed
- Stop being an asshole and just buy an iPhone.
