What I Learned when I was 25

With today being my 26th birthday I thought it would be a good time to reflect on what I have learned over the past year. About this time a year ago I was moving out of an apartment with one of my college buddies and moving into a small one-bedroom with my girlfriend. I was looking for new jobs and trying to leave Denver. A year later I'm living in Chicago in a 2-bedroom apartment with my girlfriend and I indeed have a new job. Oh how things change.

Things I learned

  1. Hard work pays off, if you think it hasn't yet...keep working hard, it will.
  2. There is a fine balance between having a solid routine and getting out of your comfort zone.
  3. Having a productive weekend is way better than having a big night of drinking.
  4. Biking to work is the greatest feeling in the world.
  5. Skinny Vinilla Lates do not decrease your manliness.
  6. I need to live by my parents eventually
  7. Don't take on more than you can handle.
  8. Doing favors for people is great, but not when they start expecting them
  9. Things will always take longer than you expect, plan accordingly.
  10. Commenting on my girlfriends outfit, no matter positive or negative, will be taken the opposite of what I was intending.
  11. Denver has the best weather in America.
  12. Lots of people are workers but not many people DOers, the DO'ers are the people who get noticed
  13. Stop being an asshole and just buy an iPhone.
Thank You!
